Founded in 1986, the Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence (WRCDV) was established to provide domestic violence resources, system changes, and greater community education on the issue of violence against women. WRCDV strives to meet the immediate and long-term needs of the diverse community of battered women and their children with programs that promote safety, compassion, connection, advocacy, and prevention. 365 days a year, WRCDV helps domestic violence survivors improve their safety by providing a safe place to stay, legal advocacy and accountability for those who use violence. Equally importantly, WRCDV provides a voice for survivors when they cannot speak for themselves and a platform for those who can speak to be heard. The agency’s advocacy for survivors of domestic violence works to change the culture that allows abuse to thrive. That advocacy, coupled with WRCDV’s powerful work with children, facilitates prevention and ending domestic violence altogether.
