Summer Art Camp at the High Museum of Art

Dive into art this summer and get creative at the High! Young artists will explore, create, and showcase their artwork in a special exhibition each week. Your child will learn about two of the most famous architects in the world, Richard Meier and Renzo Piano; the illustrator known for beloved characters Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore; and self-taught artists who have transformed the definition of art in America. Each camp is taught by a professional teaching artist who will inspire your child to look closely, experiment with art-making materials, and try new techniques each week. Camps are designed to serve rising first through eighth graders. Spots fill quickly, so register today! Members: $300/week; Not-Yet-Members: $400/week; Aftercare (4–6 p.m.): $50/week.

Summer Camp 2018 – The Dunwoody Nature Center

The Dunwoody Nature Center features 22 acres and four distinct habitats that allow campers to explore nature as it was meant to be. By combining play and learning through different weekly themes, children are able to grow and develop at their own pace, connect with nature, and better understand their place in the natural world. Campers love to play in the teepee, dip their toes in Wildcat Creek, and test their skills in the forested playground. Year after year, the Nature Center’s camps achieve satisfaction ratings of nearly 100% and most of our new camp families each summer come as referrals from other campers! Last year, every one of our camps filled to capacity, so don’t delay! You can become a member during registration to enjoy discounts of up to $35 for each camp your child signs up for, plus numerous other benefits throughout the year.

Hairspray

The 1950s are out, and change is in the air! Hairspray is a family-friendly musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs. It's 1962 in Baltimore, and the lovable plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad, has only one desire – to dance on the popular "Corny Collins Show." When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of a heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network... all without denting her 'do!

Titanic

To find a better life, we must get on that ship… board our ship of dreams this summer as we mount a larger than life floating world full of magical impossibilities. An ensemble cast of 40 Playhouse favorites and Atlanta all-stars will board a three-story structure representing the largest and fastest ship of its time: Titanic, constructed in the middle of a lake which will be submerged nightly. Honor will be paid to those who boarded this ill-fated voyage as we celebrate their stories of hope, heartbreak, and strength. Godspeed Titanic, Sail On!
