Atlanta Science Festival - Trees Atlanta Tree Trekking Challenge

Atlanta's urban forest has a wide variety of trees for you to discover! Search high and low for trees and other native plants on this cooperative, family style scavenger hunt. Using iNaturalist, families will explore the campus of the Trees Atlanta Kendeda TreeHouse and surrounding area, finding native plant life and earning prizes.

Using iNaturalist, families will explore the campus of the Trees Atlanta Kendeda TreeHouse and surrounding area, finding native plant life and earning prizes. Come early and bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds of the Kendeda TreeHouse! Bring your device with iNaturalist downloaded or we will walk you through the process.

Additional Information:

  • Getting Here: Trees Atlanta Kendeda TreeHouse (825 Warner St SW, Atlanta, GA 30310). Bike racks are located on the side of the building (near the silo in the Picnic Patio). We are approximately 1 mile from the Oakland City and West End MARTA train stations (Red and Gold Lines). Limited number of parking spaces are available at our location, in addition to limited street parking. Please make sure to arrive at 1pm - prompt arrival is beneficial to receive proper instructions for the iNaturalist Scavenger Hunt Activity.
  • Registration: Registration for this event is through the Atlanta Science Festival. Stay tuned for Open Registration.
  • What to Bring and Wear: Comfortable shoes, walking clothes, bug spray, sun screen, sun protection wear; Bring your device with iNaturalist downloaded or we will walk you through the process.
