Tellus Science Museum presents Wild About Weather

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 07/16/2022
A FULL Day of Family Fun! Learn how to make clouds in a bottle, make a cloud viewer to help you identify clouds, experiment with shadows, and learn about star formation. Make a solar bead bracelet and learn how we harness solar energy in the Solar House. Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) will be on hand with homemade electroscopes, infrasound sensors, and more. Our friends at WSB will also be at the museum with their “Weather Chaser” vehicle (weather permitting) for you to check out!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
In the Theater, we will have two special lectures. At 11 AM, scientists from GTRI’s Severe Storm Research Center will present new ways to predict and understand severe weather in Georgia. At 1 PM, join WSB-TV’s Meteorologist Glenn Burns in the Theater for a special lecture about thunderstorms, the science of lightning, and predictions for this year’s hurricane season. In the Bentley Planetarium, our shows will highlight weather throughout the solar system.
