Handel's Messiah at ASO

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 12/18/2021
George Frideric Handel's setting of the story of the Messiah is not only one of the most iconic examples of Baroque Oratorio, it contains some of the most celebrated music of the Western canon. An epic work which, in its entirety, tells the story of Jesus's life from the first prophecies to the Ascension, the Messiah was originally an Easter offering. The classic abridged version, including Part One and the finale "Hallelujah!" chorus has become a beloved holiday tradition across the world. The ASO Chamber Chorus and a cast of soloists are led by conductor Norman Mackenzie in this awe-inspiring masterwork. Atlanta Symphony Hall will be implementing a mandatory vaccine policy for audiences. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to performance, as well as matching photo ID, will be required upon arrival to Atlanta Symphony Hall.
