Christmas Parade

The parade will travel north on LaGrange Street, turn right onto North Court Square, right onto East Court Square and then end at the Coweta County Justice Center on Greenville Street. If you are looking for the high school bands they will enter the parade at the intersection of LaGrange and Gilbert Street.
“We are looking forward to the parade this year. It’s always an anticipated activity for the city. Christmas is a very special time, and it is fun to help spread the Christmas cheer. To the delight of all the kids, Santa Claus is coming to town!” said Gina Snider, city of Newnan, public information officer.
Every year there is a float contest that goes along with the parade. This year each winner of the following categories will receive a cash prize of $150. The following categories are:
Large Business
Small Business
Church
School
Civic / Non Profit
* People’s Choice will be voted on Facebook by the public and on the city’s website the next day and they will receive a plaque for this honor
The 2016 parade grand marshal is Mrs. Mary Frances Smith, of the Newnan Police. She is the City’s Parking Enforcement Officer. She has been with city since 1971. She enjoys working for the city. Mrs. Smith said, “it is family friendly and the city really works with you because family comes first.”
The entry fee is $35.
