Each week, our favorite stories are brought to life as we explore what it means to be a friend, the importance of sharing, and how to stand out by being yourself. Enjoy a morning filled with music, dancing, and crafts anchored by a classic children's book.
These morning time story celebrations are meant to nurture the love of reading and create a fun, safe environment for family friendly activities. Ideal for children between the ages of 4-10, however, like Horton says “A person’s a person, no matter how small.” Younger siblings and little friends are welcome to tag along.

THE WHO! THURSDAY JUNE 10TH
This week kids get a fun introduction to the Summer Series with a celebration of Dr. Suess by reading “Horton Hears a Who!” This book tells the story of Horton the Elephant and his adventures saving Whoville, a tiny planet located on a small speck of dust, from the animals who mock him.

FROG AND TOAD! SATURDAY JUNE 19TH
This week we will hop into the lives of The Adventures of Frog and Toad from the classic book series. The books are simple, often humorous, sometimes poignant, short stories chronicling the exploits of the anthropomorphic Frog and Toad. Some of their adventures include attempting to fly a kite, cleaning Toad's dirty house instead of postponing the chores to the next day, and being a good friend. This week will have 2 performers playing Frog and Toad to reenact the story.

THE BIG BAD WOLF! THURSDAY JUNE 24
This week we will become the jury for the trial of the century as we read “The True Story of The 3 Little Pigs.” Alexander T. Wolf, now in jail for crimes against the three little pigs, insists he was framed. The truth, he explains, is that he visited the neighboring pigs’ homes asking for a cup of sugar to make a cake for his dear old granny. He notes he had a bad head cold that day. So there was never any violent huffing and puffing, as the traditional story says. He just had a couple of bad sneezing fits.

AT THE BEACH! TUESDAY JULY 6
This week, we transform into “Buckuneers” with Captain Braid Beard as we read “How I Became a Pirate.” It’s an extraordinary story of how an average boy named Jeremy Jacob became a pirate. Packed with action and complex text structures, this book is a good resource for teaching developing readers retelling and summarizing, visualizing, and making predictions.

UNDER THE SEA! SATURDAY JULY 24
This week we’re diving head first into the underwater world of “The Rainbow Fish.” This story by Marcus Pfister is a book about a unique fish with shimmering scales. Other fish admire him and request some of his scales because they want to share in his beauty. At first reluctant, Rainbow Fish eventually relents and finds he enjoys sharing his scales.

CLOSING CELEBRATION AT GREENVILLE STREET PARK W/ ELSA & KRISTOFF THURSDAY JULY 29
This week we venture into the snowy landscapes of Norway as we meet Elsa, Anna and Kristoff from “Frozen”. Princess Elsa of Arendelle possesses magical powers that allow her to control and create ice and snow, often using them to play with her younger sister, Anna. After Elsa accidentally injures Anna with her magic, their parents, the King and Queen, take both siblings to a colony of trolls led by Grand Pabbie. He heals Anna but alters her memories so that she forgets about Elsa's magic. Special Appearance By Elsa, Anna and Kristoff.
