Pine Lake LakeFest, two days of handmade art and crafts, live music, festival food and family fun on the shores of beautiful Pine Lake, Georgia, will take place on October 5 and 6, 2019. Now in its 19th year, this highly interactive festival features 50 local and regional artists, health and wellness vendors, and two dozen talented musicians--something for everyone. Activities include LakeFest's signature “Floatzilla!” a wild water parade on the lake; chalk drawing and sand sculpture contests on the beach with prizes; a family games gazebo, puppet shows, readings by local authors, and a pet show and parade. Musical highlights will include an appearance by Atlanta's favorite street performers, “The Seed and Feed Marching Abominables,” as well as live music in a variety of styles each day. Pine Lake is located 12 miles east of Atlanta, between Decatur and Stone Mountain. Festival hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, and 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6. Admission and parking are free. Park at the entance to the city and take a free shuttle to lakefront. The lake is surrounded by a park, a playground, and wetlands with walking trails.
