National Dog Day Celebration - Children’s Museum of Atlanta

Woof! Woof! We are celebrating National Dog Day at CMA! Thinking of adopting a dog who needs a loving home? FurKids is bringing their cute, adoptable dogs to the Museum from 11 am to 2 pm!

Canine Companions for Independence will also add to our furry festivities, sharing the journey of an assistance dog from puppy-hood to hero. Dogs will be available to meet and greet! As part of this bark-tastic day, don’t forget to wag your tail on over to the Art Studio to create celestial prints of the constellation Canis Major that includes Sirius, the “dog star,” and to the Build It Lab to make leash holders!

Furkids is a non profit organization that operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter for dogs. Canine Companions for Independence’s Atlanta Chapter includes graduates, volunteers, puppy raisers and donors who are enthusiastic about the mission of Canine Companions – providing highly trained assistance dogs for people with disabilities, free of charge.
