Hands-On for Kids - Stories in 3Dat Museum of Design Atlanta
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 03/17/2019
Many of the stories we know and love take place in worlds quite different from our own. From enchanted forests to cities overrun by superheroes and super villains, these worlds often begin in our own imaginations, and can be difficult to express just using words. Get out of your head and into a workshop as we mix storytelling with 3D modeling!
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
We’re flipping creative writing on its head and starting with setting rather than characters. First, we’ll construct our own imaginary worlds. Using some of our favorite books and movies as inspiration, we’ll discuss what makes each world work, how they differ from our own, and the way we experience them. With sketches in hand, campers will be introduced to CAD using Tinkercad and design an aspect of their world. By the end of the class your creation will be ready to go to print, and in just two weeks you’ll be able to pick it up at MODA.
