Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2025, Studio Ghibli is one of the most globally influential and treasured animation houses in film history. With legendary filmmakers like Isao Takahata, Hiromasa Yonebayashi, and Hayao Miyazaki, Ghibli has carried the torch for traditional hand-drawn animation, crafting masterpieces that have inspired audiences and artists for generations. In 2024, Studio Ghibli became the first and only production company to receive an honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, and The Boy and the Heron, Miyazaki’s triumphant return to directing after a 10 year absence, earned the studio its second Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature.
