Online Costume Contest
Oakland’s traditional Sunday in the Park costume contest kicks off our virtual Sunday in the Park festivities on Monday, September 21. Contestants have until September 20th at 11:59 p.m. to submit a photo or video of their costume to mfernandez@oaklandcemetery.com with a few lines of text describing the inspiration for the costumes, their work to create the costumes, and anything else they would like to add. We’ll share the entries on Oakland’s Facebook page, where the public will vote for their favorite. Voting closes at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, and winners will be announced at 4 p.m.
 
Virtual Atlanta Trivia with Oakland

Virtual Malts and Vaults of Oakland Beer Tour

Virtual Tarot Workshop
Join Oakland Cemetery for an online tarot class with renowned tarot reader Victoria Rose on September 27 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. This class will introduce you to the stories and history of the Tarot. You’ll learn how to read for others and for yourself as well as secret ways to “tap in” to your own cards and prepare for a reading. Visit Oakland Cemetery on Sunday, September 27, for pop-up acoustic music and other surprises! We encourage visitors to get food to-go from one of our neighboring restaurants for a perfect picnic at Oakland.
 
Fall Plant Sale

Pop-Up Shop
On Sunday, September 27, Oakland’s Museum Store will host a low-contact Pop-up Shop, showing off some of its curated, one-of-a-kind wares and specialty items for fall and Halloween.
 
Run Like Hell Virtual 5K Kickoff
Our two-week 2020 Run Like Hell Virtual 5K also kicks off Sunday the 27th, so keep an eye out for ghouls and goblins making a path through the cemetery in their Halloween best! Register now for the race.
 
Cemetery Tours
Full-length Sights, Symbols, and Stories of Oakland tours (https://oaklandcemetery.com/event/sights-symbols-and-stories-of-oakland-tours/) will take place on Saturday, September 26, at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. Mini-tours (https://oaklandcemetery.com/event/mini-tours-sights-symbols-and-stories-of-oakland/) will be held every half hour on Sunday, September 27, from 12 to 5:30. Tours will meet outside Oakland’s Bell Tower. Reservations required.
 
Acoustic performances from 1-6 featuring Joe Capo, Nate Helfrich, The Peavine Three, and Heidi and the Yoga Jammers.

Please note: Masks are required at Oakland when you cannot maintain six feet of social distancing, on tours, near performers, and in the Pop-up Shop. There are no restrooms available at Oakland due to COVID-19.
