AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE

This basic course is designed to educate the student in deafness, its language, and its culture; and to develop receptive and expressive skills of using fingerspelling, basic signs, facial expressions and body language of American Sign Language (ASL)

The deaf instructor signs native ASL. Materials: Students will need to purchase a copy of A Basic Course in American Sign Language (ISBN: 0932666426, spiral-bound soft-cover, list price $37.00) prior to the first class meeting, as well as bring a notebook and pencil or pen.
