The Natural Science Series: An Overview
For adults living in a city like Atlanta, it can be difficult to recognize the opportunities for enjoying and learning about nature without leaving the city limits. At Blue Heron, we are dedicated to providing opportunities for all people to get out and enjoy nature.
Our new natural science workshops are designed with adults in mind, and offer you the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in your own backyard. In 2017 we plan to cover a wide range of topics including natural science illustration, medicinal herbs and tonics, native plants for urban yards and landscapes, fundamental ways to engage your child and yourself with nature, and more. No need to travel OTP this weekend, just come to a City of Atlanta Park and start enjoying and learning about what nature in the city can do for you- and you for it!

The Natural Science Series Kick-Off: Natural Science Illustration for Adults
The first offering in our new series highlights our love of art and nature. Christy Knight, who has facilitated the artisitc development of so many of our young neighbors through her after school art program at Blue Heron, is turning her attention to adults. An award-winning naturalist illustrator, Christy has years of experience teaching techniques and skills to help any adult hone their skills as a natural science illustrator.
Engaging and fun for adults of all ability levels, Christy will make sure every participant receives both group and individual support. A list of basic suggested materials will be provided upon registration and each workshop includes an overview of preferred brands and trade secrets.
Classes are open to adults 18 years of age and older. Space is limited, be sure to register early. You will be given the option to register for any one class, or all three, on our registration page. Participants who choose to register for all 3 get a discount!
